Ten lucky seamstresses were awarded sewing machines and other tools during the celebration of National Cooperative Month at the flag-raising ceremony in Taguig City Hall on October 16.

The beneficiaries are from the Sewer For Equity and Welfare Producers Cooperative, which falls under the Integrated Livelihood Program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano emphasized the important role played by the Cooperative Development Office Taguig (TCDO) in bringing together and assisting Taguig residents for progress.

"Let us not underestimate the power of coming together, the power of talking to each other... We are being encouraged to work together in unity, all our beautiful plans for the Taguig city government will be realized when there is unity, coordination, and cooperation," the mayor said.

Lecira Juarez, head of the TCDO, stated that activities related to the celebration of National Cooperative Month are still ongoing. Upcoming activities include the Cooperatives' Leadership Seminar and the Cooperatives' Icon Award Night.
