A centenarian from Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City, received one hundred thousand pesos upon reaching her 106th birthday.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, along with the leaders of the Taguig Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs, personally visited Barangay Western Bicutan to present Maria Billones with her P100,000 check on December 21, 2023, at her home.
Taguig City's centenarians receive a P100,000 cash gift when they reach the age of 100, and they continue to receive this same amount annually for as long as they live.
Other senior citizens in Taguig also receive cash gifts ranging from P3,000 to P10,000 depending on their age bracket, according to City Ordinance No. 25 series of 2017.
Additionally, senior citizens in Taguig have access to free medical consultations, medications related to diabetes, asthma, and high blood pressure, free nursing services at their homes, and free mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walking canes, and hearing aids.
