Fifteen students from Taguig City were among the Filipino students who won 190 medals and awards at the recent 2023 World Talent International Mathematics Examination (WTIME).

The online mathematics contest was participated in by Filipino students nationwide, collectively securing 13 gold, 38 silver, and 74 bronze medals.

The students also achieved 65 merit awards, according to the Mathematics Trainers Guild (MTG)-Philippines.

The Filipino students proved their mathematical problem-solving prowess in this highly competitive global contest, MTG stated.

Among the winners from MGC New Life Christian Academy in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig included Tyler Gavin Uy Uy, Grade 6, who claimed a gold medal; Nathan Andres Ting Alviar, Grade 9 who earned a silver medal; Nathan Gabriel So Hao, Grade 11, who also secured a silver medal; Keisha Elise Chen Wang, Grade 5, and Theo Go Chan, Grade 4, both received bronze medals; Ember Prinze Avelino Wong, Grade 5, and Michiko Meredith Ng Tiong, Grade 6, both received merits.

Upper Bicutan Elementary School also had a haul of medals and recognitions. Among its students were Aiyana Victoria delos Santos Aceret, Grade 6, who received a bronze medal; Ronice Banigan Moquete, Grade 6, who also earned a bronze medal; Jazz Nazarene Bagang Arguilles, Grade 5, and Jon Lester Fetizanan Rioflorido, Grade 5, both of whom received merits; and Nazhe Maxenne Ramos Hernandez, Grade 3, who also received a merit.

Apple Ofalla Botalon, Grade 9, of Taguig Science High School, won a bronze medal.

Elaiza Mae Macaorog Ojo, Grade 11, of Senator Renato Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School, earned a bronze medal, as did her classmate, Kalel Elijah Acebedo Lontok, Grade 8.
