187 Chinese nationals have been deported from the country following separate operations by authorities against illegal Philippine online gaming operators (Pogo).

According to the Bureau of Immigration (BI), these Chinese nationals were flown back to China on the afternoon of December 5, 2024.

These individuals were apprehended in operations led by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission in Pasay City and Cebu.

The BI has blacklisted these Chinese nationals, which means they are no longer permitted to enter the Philippines.

The BI intended to deport 190 Chinese nationals, but only 187 were able to depart. One individual had a hold departure order, and two others are facing cases in the country.

In the State of the Nation Address by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., he ordered a total ban on POGOs in the country and gave currently operating entities until the end of the year to cease their operations.
