A father recently killed his infant child out of anger towards his live-in partner who refused to return to their home in Taguig City.
According to the Taguig City Police, the father suffocated the 11-month-old baby by covering them with a pillow and sitting on it, leading to their death in their home at Barangay South Daang Hari, Taguig City.
The child's father, identified by the police as John Erick Maribao, 22 years old, committed suicide by hanging himself with a belt after committing the crime. Unfortunately, both victims did not survive to reach the Taguig Pateros District Hospital (TPDH).
Jealousy is allegedly the reason why the child's mother left the home.
Police Major Cherrylyn Agtarap reported that they found evidence on Maribao's cellphone, where he had threatened his live-in partner via text message, stating that he would kill the child if she did not return home.
According to the neighbors of the deceased, the live-in couple often fought before the crime occurred.
