A 23-year-old man, who had recently graduated from Taguig City University, fell from a jeepney in Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig City on the evening of May 6, 2024, at around 7:30pm.
John Patrick Nacis, aged 23, from Phase 2, Barangay Pinagsama, died after his head hit the road when he fell from a jeepney en route to FTI Taguig.
Nacis's mother, 45-year-old Ofel Mansalapus Nacis, told Taguig.com that according to the jeepney driver, her son was at the back of the vehicle when he allegedly jumped off after dropping his cell phone.
However, the mother received information that Nacis had actually dropped his cellphone on the footstep at the passenger entrance and when he bent to pick it up, the jeepney allegedly started to move rapidly causing him to fall.
The jeepney driver was allowed to go home by the police after giving his statement.
"He fell in front of Wildcat Palar near a pothole, far from his usual drop-off point at the overpass in Pinagsama," Mansalapus-Nacis said.
Nacis's mother appeals to her son's co-passengers to come forward to reveal the truth behind his fall and death.
"We are calling on those who saw or rode the jeepney on May 6, 2024, around 7:30pm. We just want to know what really happened that night to answer our questions. Please contact this number 09673242455. We will provide a small assistance to whoever can provide information," Mansalapus-Nacis requested.
The victim, Nacis, had recently completed a BSBA Major in Marketing degree at Taguig City University and had been working as an Account Executive in an Ortigas office in Pasig for just three months.
Nacis was the eldest of Mansalapus-Nacis's four children.
"We hope you can help us find the truth and hopefully, a witness will come forward," Mansalapus-Nacis stated.
The victim was recently buried at the Santa Ana Cemetery.
