A construction worker was apprehended with suspected shabu, or methamphetamine, valued at ₱117,572.00 ($2,300 USD) during an anti-illegal drug operation in Palar Southside, Pinagsama Barangay, Taguig City yesterday morning, August 13, 2024.

During the operation conducted by the Taguig City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit, an individual known as Justine, a 27-year-old construction worker, was arrested.

Justine was found in possession of three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 17.29 grams. Also confiscated were the buy-bust money composed of two genuine ₱100.00 bills and ₱6,000.00 in boodle money, as well as his mobile phone used in the transaction.

Justine will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Justine is currently held at the Taguig City Custodial Facility, while the evidence has been forwarded to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
