A 28-year-old resident of Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig City was arrested in Parañaque City along with another individual during a raid that seized over a million pesos' worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine) on August 11, 2024, at 11:40 in the morning.
During the buy-bust operation conducted by the National Capital Region Police Office, Marvin Bagon Bontia, known as a High-Value Individual (HVI), 28 years old, residing in Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig City, and Eduard Alferero, a 20-year-old resident of Barangay Daniel Fajardo, Las Piñas City, were found in possession of 150 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately 1,020,000 PHP.
Six officers from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Parañaque City Police Station, Southern Police District, posed as buyers of the illegal drugs from Bontia and Alferero who were then located at the Lim Compound, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.
Upon the exchange of the marked money and the illegal drugs, the authorities immediately arrested the two suspects.
Seized from them were one tied plastic bag, three pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a total weight of 150 grams.
The confiscated suspected drugs have been submitted to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit (SPDFU) for analysis.
The two suspects are currently in police custody as they prepare to face charges under the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 at the Parañaque City Prosecutor's Office.
"In line with our advocacy for a New Philippines, where we aim for everyone's safety, we continue to show that there is no room for illegal drugs in our communities. Our police force is relentless in curbing the drug menace in the National Capital Region," stated NCRPO Regional Director Major General Jose Melencio Nartatez.
