The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, or PAGASA, stated that the heat index in Metro Manila is expected to reach 35 to 36 degrees Celsius this Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

General Santos City is anticipated to experience the day's most extreme heat, estimated to reach up to 42 degrees Celsius.

On March 10, Cotabato City in Maguindanao Province experienced 42 degrees Celsius.

Tomorrow, March 13, Metro Manila is expected to experience temperatures of 34 to 36 degrees Celsius.

According to PAGASA, the heat will intensify further in April due to the end of the northeast monsoon and the peak of El Niño.

The arrival of the rainy season in the country will also be delayed.
