A 38-year-old man suffered burns to his face, both arms and right leg during a fire outbreak in a warehouse storing construction and industrial materials in Barangay Bagumbayan, Taguig City on the morning of September 7.
Gilmar Sabalsa was caught by the fire inside the SEA Olympus Marketing warehouse located at 17-A 1st Avenue corner Mañalac Avenue in Barangay Bagumbayan at around 11:30 in the morning.
Apart from Sabalsa, others injured include Rolly Del Monte, 42, who sustained a wound on his right eyebrow, Crisostomo Richard Delara, 29, who suffered burns on his left arm, and 44-year-old Rien Estopace who had difficulty breathing after being caught in the fire inside the warehouse.
The victims were immediately treated by Taguig Rescue and then taken to the hospital.
The fire was swiftly extinguished by 12 fire trucks that responded to the scene. The fire was declared out by noon.
It was determined that the fire started in the warehouse's cold room. The exact cause of the fire is not known, but it caused damage estimated at 1.7 million pesos to equipment and structure.
SEA Olympus Marketing is a supplier of raw materials such as resin and fiberglass, surface coatings, foam, corrugated sheets, and others.
