The woman, known as Sheryl, was served with an arrest warrant for allegedly recruiting and charging individuals wishing to work overseas.

Sheryl is facing charges of large-scale illegal recruitment, violating the Republic Act 10022, also known as the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995.

Under RA 10022, "Illegal recruitment is deemed committed by a syndicate if carried out by a group of three (3) or more persons conspiring or confederating with one another. It is deemed committed in large scale if committed against three (3) or more persons individually or as a group."

There is no recommended bail for this case, as issued by Presiding Judge Nanette Lemana of Davao City Regional Trial Court Branch 11 on November 11, 2024, so alias Sheryl was taken directly to prison.

The suspect is currently being held at the custodial facility of the Taguig City Police Station.
