Seventy-two vehicles were towed and ticketed by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) for illegal parking on Narra Street, Barangay Cembo, Taguig City on February 23, 2024.

The vehicles were pulled away during clearing operations by the MMDA Special Operations Group and taken to an impounding area after residents had complained they were obstructing the road, causing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians.

Barangay Cembo Captain Dr. Romeo Millo stated that they have an ordinance that allows "one-side parking" on Narra Street, which was enacted when they were under the jurisdiction of Makati.

MMDA Special Operations Task Force OIC Gabriel Go, on the other hand, explained that the area where the vehicles were parked is part of the national road, and it is a convergence route or two-way street.

"It's a two-way street. A two-way street can never have a one-side parking. We cannot hamper public convenience, we cannot hamper the flow of traffic just for the sake of having a parking area that is not correct," Go stated.

Under the National Traffic Code and Guidelines, the use of undersides and sides of bridges or flyovers as parking spaces is also prohibited.
