Age proved to be no barrier for eight senior citizens in Taguig City, who have completed their education through the Alternative Learning System (ALS).

Among the oldest graduates was 71-year-old Shiarma Talusan, who completed elementary school at Maharlika Elementary School. Talusan was thrilled to receive her diploma at the ceremony held at Taguig City University Auditorium on September 9, proving that it's never too late to pursue education.

At 70 years old, Liza Cruz is the eldest among her siblings and therefore never had chance to study. She is also a single mother to three children and could not manage to focus on her own education. Once her children became independent and she learned about the ALS program, she enrolled and has now completed elementary school.
