Eight hundred households stand to benefit from a signed Memorandum of Agreement with various homeowners and neighborhood associations in Taguig City, facilitating their connection to electricity and water.

One hundred individuals bore witness to the signing, including 75 members of homeowners associations from five different organizations, representatives from Meralco, and city government officials of Taguig led by Mayor Lani Cayetano.

The signing took place in Kalayaan Hall at the SM Aura Tower on September 30, 2024.

"The agreement aims to provide adequate and regular supply of electricity, water, and other basic utilities to thousands of homes in our city's communities. To clarify, the agreement separates the issue of land ownership," posted Mayor Cayetano on her Facebook Page: Lani Cayetano.

"Having formal connections to water and electricity will be life-changing for you. It's transformative; it's lively because it encourages each one of you to be more active in participating in community activities; and it showcases the caring nature of the City of Taguig. We may not be the richest city in the Philippines, but our love for our residents is deep and rich, which is why we are all here. It shows that in Taguig, we are a Truly Loving and Caring city," the Mayor added.

Among those who collaborated to make the water and electricity connections in the urban poor communities possible are Agapito M. Cruz, head of the Urban Poor Affairs Office (UPAO), Jeana Catacio, President of Hanzel NAI, Merlita Magtanong, President of Calzada NAI, Eric Clave, President of Rancho Guapo NAI, Solina Alcantara, VP of San Lorenzo Ruiz SPD NAI, and Raquel Bardon of C6 Hagonoy Ville NA.
