Over P300,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine, or shabu, was confiscated from two men in Taguig City - one was served a search warrant, and the other was apprehended during a buy-bust operation last week.
Authorities from Ususan Police Sub-station 4, in cooperation with officials from Barangay Bambang, conducted a search at the residence of 'Alyas Bungal', a 40-year-old man, in Barangay Bambang, Taguig City at 3:30 in the afternoon on August 28, 2024.
This action was based on a search warrant issued by the Honorable Byron San Pedro, Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 15-Family Court of the National Capital Judicial Region of Taguig City.
Upon searching Bungal's residence, six sealed plastic sachets were recovered containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing 15 grams. The estimated value is around ₱102,000, also including drug paraphernalia.
Meanwhile, on August 22, 2024, 'Alyas Alexander', a 48-year-old man, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
According to the Taguig Police Drug Enforcement Unit, their agent pretended to buy shabu from Alexander, arresting him in the act of selling the prohibited substance.
Nine plastic sachets were confiscated from the suspect containing suspected shabu weighing 30.46 grams, worth an estimated P207,128. The legitimate P500, as well as six P1,000 boodle money, were also recovered.
Both suspects will be charged with violation of the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
