A warrant of arrest issued by the Denton County district court in Texas on January 23, 2024, led to the capture of Malik Dejoun Okojie at his residence in Barangay Bagumpandan, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on July 18, 2024.

The BI Fugitive Search Unit reported that Okojie's case involves assault with a deadly weapon, a violation of the Texas penal code.

"He will be deported after our board of commissioners has issued the orders for his summary deportation. Afterwards, we will include him in our blacklist to prevent him from re-entering the Philippines," stated Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco.

Okojie's US Passport has been cancelled by order of the State Department, making him an undocumented alien who should be immediately deported from the country.
