The Angat Buhay Foundation has assisted over 20,000 families and around 15,000 individuals across 176 communities, commemorating its first anniversary at the SMX Aura Hall in Taguig City on July 1.
The organization has undertaken the development of 367 projects, with an approximate value of P24.8 million, in a Development Matching session. Here, volunteer NGOs and institutional partners held discussions to strengthen their advocacy relationships.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the Angat Buhay Foundation launched the Angat Bayanihan, hailed as the country's largest volunteer network. The initiative brought together 188 volunteer organizations and more than 13,000 individual volunteers to collaborate and improve the lives of citizens.
The celebration of the non-government organization and volunteer network was led by the former Vice President Leni Robredo.
"The Angat Buhay NGO has turned one, or perhaps it's more accurate to say, it's only just turned one. We're only just beginning. I am excited about the dreams we can still reach," Robredo said.
Members and volunteers of the organization gathered in Taguig to discuss how to expand collaborations with the Angat Buhay's institutional partners, with the aim of assisting citizens in overcoming poverty and enabling communities to stand on their own two feet.
