Eufemia Fabillar of Barangay Cembo, Taguig City, recently celebrated her 100th birthday and as a result, she received a birthday cash gift of ₱100,000 from the city government of Taguig.

Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano and Councilor Raul Aquino personally presented the cash gift to Eufemia.

In Taguig City, centenarians receive ₱100,000 every birthday, not just when they reach the age of 100.

The Office of the Senior Citizens in Taguig also reported that other senior citizens who do not reach 100 still receive cash gifts every birthday ranging from P3,000 to P10,000 depending on their age bracket.

The city also provides free medication for diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma to senior citizens, as well as free wheelchairs, canes, and hearing aids. They also offer doctor's consultations and can personally visit homes if the senior citizen is bedridden, along with providing nursing services at their homes.
