A member of the Barangay Security Force of Barangay New Lower Bicutan was apprehended by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Taguig City Police Station after confiscating over P2 million worth of suspected methamphetamine (shabu) during a buy-bust operation conducted in the area yesterday, September 19, 2024.

In a report released by Police Colonel Christopher Olazo, Chief of Police of Taguig City, the arrested individual was identified as 'alias Roger', 56 years old and a member of the Barangay Security Force of Barangay New Lower Bicutan.
Seized from him was about 330 grams of suspected shabu, estimated to be worth P 2,244,000.00.
The police also recovered the buy-bust money, which consisted of one authentic P1,000 bill placed on top of 39 pieces of P1,000 boodle money, along with a black weighing scale.
Investigations are still ongoing to determine whether the suspect is involved in other drug-related cases and to identify his accomplices in the illegal drug operation.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the Taguig City Police said: "Through the leadership of the Chief of Police, the Taguig PNP is continuously conducting its intensified anti-illegal drugs awareness and prevention. The campaign against illegal drugs by the PNP aligns with the intention of the BIDA (Buhay Ingatan, Droga'y Ayawan) program. The Taguig City Police Station aims to bring sustainable development in the community so that people will not resort to illegal drug activities that contribute to the commission of other crimes.
