The exceptional Coast Guard Working Dog (CGWD) who passed away on August 6, 2024, has been given a final tribute by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) K9 Force.
CGWD Britney served as a search and rescue detection dog for 9 years. Her handler was CG PO1 Miguel L. Yniego Jr.

Among Britney's notable contributions to the PCG include her active participation in the search and rescue mission during the landslide in Tiwi, Albay, and Sagñay, Camarines Sur on January 3, 2019; and during the landslide in Maco, Davao de Oro on February 11, 2024.
Several individuals were located and rescued due to Britney's diligent search efforts throughout these landslides.
In recognition of Britney's unique abilities, she was awarded the CG Search and Rescue Dog of the Year last year.
In a statement issued by the PCG K9 Force from its headquarters at M. L. Quezon St., Purok 1, Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, "CGWD Britney was known for providing exceptional service and for her unwavering dedication to duty. Despite her departure, her legacy will always be remembered and cherished."
