The Local Building Office (LBO) of the Taguig City government is proud to announce a 23.7% increase in the issuance of building permits, as well as a 48.04% rise in occupancy permits.
During the celebration of the 25th National Building Management Industry Week, Engineer Romeo Cabigting from the LBO Civil Structure Section, confirmed that they have also received new applications for the construction of structures in 10 EMBO (Enlisted Men's Barrios) barangays.
Among the completed infrastructure improvements and fortifications include: the Convention Center at the New Taguig City Hall in Barangay Ususan; Taguig Community Center in Barangay Bagumbayan; Center for the Elderly in Barangay North Signal; Center for Disaster Management in Barangay Central Signal; the seven-storey school building of R.P. Cruz, Sr. Elementary School in Barangay New Lower Bicutan;
The Barangay Ibayo-Tipas Multi-Purpose Building, the three-storey Barangay Santa Ana Multi-Purpose Building, the Barangay Sana Ana Multi-Purpose Building, the Multi-Purpose Building in Barangay Calzada; and the newly renovated wheelchair ramps at Taguig City Hall in Barangay Tuktukan.
The LBO also enforces the National Building Code or Presidential Decree 1096 and the Accessibility Law or Republic Act Number 344.
Under these laws, LBO continuously inspects all existing and under-construction facilities. The office also ensures that large and tall buildings are equipped with earthquake detectors.
