Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano honoured the pride-bearers of Taguig in a ceremony at Taguig City Hall on Monday, October 9.

Cayetano recognized the honour bestowed on Barangay Lower Bicutan as the principal Peace and Order Council from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). The DILG's incentive program recognizes councils or groups that successfully resolve local disputes with fair judgement.

"Thank you because the selection of these councils is meticulous. They ought to be respected by the community, their words carry weight within the community because to command obedience, you must have integrity and their respect is with you," said Cayetano.

In this esteem, the former champion Barangay Fort Bonifacio came second, followed by Barangay North Daang Hari in third place.

Cayetano also seized the opportunity to congratulate the victorious Taguig Generals Soft Ball Team who won the championship at the Open Invitational Slopitch Tournament at the University of the Philippines in Los Baños, Laguna. The Taguig Generals defeated the former regular champions, the Entom Tigers. Arvin Santos of the Taguig Generals was recognized as the Most Valuable Player.

Cayetano also lauded the Taguig City University Pep Squad that triumphed for the eighth consecutive year at the 12th Local Colleges and Universities Athletic Association National Games Cheerdance Championship.

"Their dedication, talent, and passion have once again propelled them to secure their 8th consecutive Championship title," concluded Cayetano.
