The Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) arrested Ji Shunchao, a 64-year-old wanted in China for tax fraud and illicitly obtaining tax refunds.

It's alleged that Ji purchased an export declaration information sheet and used it, along with falsified VAT special invoices, to secure export tax refunds amounting to approximately 14 million renminbi or around two million dollars.

The Shishi Municipal Public Security Bureau in China requested Ji's arrest.

Meanwhile, on December 8, the Bureau of Immigration arrested 32-year-old Taiwanese national Ye Tian Hao in Pasay City due to a warrant of arrest issued by the district prosecutor in Taichung, Taiwan, where he has been sentenced for fraud.

The Taiwanese national is also detained at the Bureau of Immigration warden facility in Taguig City, waiting to be deported.

"There will be no letup in our campaign to catch and expel these fugitives whose presence here poses a serious threat to public safety and security," according to Bureau of Immigration head Joel Anthony Viado.
