Though cloudy, Taguig City is set to enjoy fair weather as it welcomes the New Year.

According to AccuWeather, no rainfall is predicted in Metro Manila, despite an overcast sky expected tonight, December 31, 2024.

However, Northern Luzon, Bicol Region, Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience rainy New Year's Eve, as per the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The rain is due to the influence of a shear line and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Moderate to heavy rain is expected on New Year's Eve in the provinces of Cagayan, Apayao, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Palawan, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Zamboanga del Norte, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Dinagat Islands.

On January 1st, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Albay, Sorsogon, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte are anticipated to experience moderate and heavy rain as well.

PAGASA warns that the rain may be stronger in mountainous and high-altitude areas.
