The Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP) has reported that the value of the coins deposited in their coin deposit machines (CoDM) has reached a staggering PHP1.082 billion.

In their latest report, dated November 15, the BSP disclosed that the CoDMs have collected over 280 million pieces of coins in over 255,000 transactions.

The CoDM project was launched in June of the previous year, providing customers with a convenient way to exchange their coins for shopping vouchers, or transfer the equivalent amount to their electronic wallet accounts in GCash or Maya.

This initiative is part of the BSP's Coin Recirculation Program, seeking to keep coins in circulation and available for the public to use.

In Taguig City, the coin deposit machine can be found in SM Hypermarket FTI-Taguig. Other locations of the CoDMs include:
