The weather will continuously get cooler beginning next week, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA attributes this to the onset of the northeast monsoon, or amihan. The cool dry wind and lower temperatures brought by the wind from the northeast will prevail in the coming weeks.

The southwest monsoon, or habagat, ended on October 7, PAGASA added.

Meanwhile, PAGASA has tracked the strengthening of a high-pressure system in East Asia which is causing scattered rains across the country.

Scattered rain showers are expected today in Metro Manila, along with Luzon and Eastern Visayas.
