A month-long celebration is currently ongoing in Taguig City, highlighting the spirit of cooperatives, with the theme "Pioneering the Path to Recovery amidst Modern Challenges of Climate Change and Food Security."

In a statement, Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, called upon cooperatives to join forces and face the challenges of modernization, further collaborating for food, jobs, and health security for the citizens. (Click the video below for part of Mayor Cayetano's speech.)



The celebration of National Cooperative Month in the Province City of Taguig started with a fun run and Zumba session at TLC Park in C6 Barangay Lower Bicutan yesterday, October 1, at 5:30 in the morning.

Thousands of residents from Taguig and Pateros participated in the five-kilometer fun run and Zumba session led by dancer and actress Regine Tolentino. Medals and cash prizes were awarded to the top performers in the fun run.

The Transforming Lives and Communities or TLC Expo, where cooperative products are exhibited and available for purchase, was also opened to the public. It also featured franchise businesses that citizens can get involved with. Over 80 exhibitors participated in it.

The TLC Expo, located at Taguig Lakeshore Hall in C6 Barangay Lower Bicutan, will run for a week, concluding on October 6. The TLC Expo is open from 9:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon.

On October 14, the Coop Lympics will be held from 9:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon.

On October 18, there will be a Cooperatives' Leadership Seminar at the SM Aura Kalayaan Hall. The Cooperatives' Icon Awards Night will be held on October 27 at 6:00 in the evening.
