His death was announced by his daughter, Laura Charlton, the Creative Director of David's Salon, on their Facebook Page. The cause of his death was not revealed.
Charlton's wake will commence on October 30, 2024, starting at 2:00 in the afternoon until November 2, 2024, at The Chapels, Heritage Park in Taguig City.
A funeral Mass will be held on November 3, 2024, at 1:00 in the afternoon at the same location.
"His legacy of creativity, dedication, and unparalleled service will continue to inspire us. He will be deeply missed," stated a post from L'Oréal Professionnel on their Facebook page.
Charlton was born in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England in 1955.
He moved to the Philippines in 1978 and established David's Salon in 1989.
The salon chain has 200 branches nationwide.
