In a video on his Facebook page, Cayetano stated that local leaders should not be fighting each other, but rather should be uniting for the further development of Taguig. He also emphasized the need to continue the city's progress, so it doesn't fall behind as one of the most progressive cities not just in the Philippines, but in Asia.
"We have to have a mindset that, yes, Taguig has come a long way, but there is much we still need to do to improve the lives of our fellow Taguigeños," said Cayetano, without directly addressing whether he plans to return to politics in the next election.

Cayetano also stated that neighboring cities of Taguig should not be antagonized, mentioning Makati City specifically.
"We cannot afford to engage in petty infighting, we need unity. There is a time for politics," according to the former mayor.
Cayetano, who is also a director, made this statement while conducting an ocular inspection in Hong Kong for a television series.
