The closure was ordered by the Makati City Government following the Supreme Court's directive to transfer the management of EMBO to Taguig, after it was decided that Taguig is the legitimate authority over Fort Bonifacio and the EMBO barangays.
DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa stated that they are doing their utmost to address the health needs of the people of Taguig and even Makati.
"We are ready to help both Mayor Lani Cayetano and Abby Binay come up with the solution. We are there to support the people in the area, the jurisdiction of Taguig, formerly Makati," Herbosa said.
Prior to this, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano questioned Herbosa as to why nothing was done following the closure of the said health centers in EMBO.

On the part of Makati Mayor Abby Binay, she said that the Taguig City Government should respond to the need for health centers.
"It has been more than a year since the Supreme Court decided to give the EMBO barangays to Taguig. Makati even did what was expected of a good neighbor, even if it was not reciprocated by Taguig, by continuing to provide health services for EMBO residents until the end of 2023. One year is more than enough time for them to work on their health programs," Binay stated.

Taguig City Government's response has been to transport the residents of EMBO to health centers in Taguig and their catchment centers.
Taguig also has teleconsultation services for EMBO residents and conducts the Taguig Love Caravan, bringing doctors, dentists, and medicine along with diagnostic services and teaching healthy cooking.
