The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently constructing three evacuation centers in Taguig City.

Among the ongoing projects are the evacuation centers in Barangay Calzada, which costs P9.5 million, in Barangay Ibayo-Tipas valued at P4.9 million, and in Barangay Bagumbayan which is budgeted at P12.73 billion.

Meanwhile, the construction of the evacuation center building in Pasig City has just been completed. It is expected to expedite the disaster response in Metro Manila.

The two-storey evacuation center will be placed under the care of Barangay Bambang, Pasig City.

The building, erected by the DPWH Metro Manila 1st District Engineering Office, is intended to provide a suitable temporary shelter for those evacuating from danger zones during disasters.

Seven evacuation centers have already been completed by the DPWH through the budget acquired from the 2023 General Appropriations Act.

Other completed evacuation centers are at the Boystown Complex in Parang, Marikina worth PHP20.73 million, Barangay Guadalupe Viejo in Makati City valued at PHP19.31 million, and in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, with a budget of PHP66.20 million.
