The suspicious substance was discovered by a jail guard from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) after it fell out of the woman's shoe.

Despite the woman's long attire, the jail guard still noticed the fallen plastic sachet containing 0.13 grams of the suspected shabu.

The woman denied that the drugs were hers. According to her, before the incident occurred, she had attended a mass wedding at a basketball court where she lost her shoe. She claimed to have found her shoe in a rubbish bin and put it back on.

The jail guard stated that the suspected drugs fell out when he asked her to remove her shoe for inspection.

The woman's daughter, who she was visiting at the Taguig City Jail Female Dormitory, has been incarcerated there for two years due to drug-related charges.

The elderly woman was arrested and charged with violating Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and was detained at the Taguig City Police Substation 10.
