Employment opportunities are on the horizon for students, out-of-school youth, and dependents of Taguig workers who have lost or are about to lose their jobs through the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES).

Accepted applicants for the SPES program will receive a daily allowance of P610.00, based on the previously approved minimum wage in the National Capital Region in 2023. These individuals will be employed for twenty days under the SPES program.

This initiative, jointly promoted by the City Government of Taguig and the Department of Labor and Employment, is open for young people aged 15 to 30. The program aims to help them spend their free time productively and provide additional support for their education.

The application period for SPES runs from July 4 to 9, 2024. The designated application days at the Taguig PESO are outlined in the art card, according to the schedule for each barangay:

Qualified individuals may apply and submit their requirements on the specified day of their barangay at the Taguig Public Employment and Services Office located on the 3rd floor, PESO Taguig, Ballecer St., Barangay Central Signal.

In addition to the applicant's age, the annual income of the parents, including their earnings if any, should not exceed the annual poverty threshold of P144,360 (total annual income).

If the applicant is a student, they should not have any failing grades from the previous and current semesters.

The documents to be submitted to Taguig PESO include the following:
1. Birth Certificate
2. Any of the following:
* Income Tax Return
* Certificate of Tax Exemption
* Certificate of Indigency / Certificate of Low Income from the barangay or City Social Welfare and Development Office
3. For students, the Class Card or Form 138 of the student
4. For students, an original copy of the certification from the School Registrar proving they passed the previous semester/year, if the grades for the current semester have not yet been released.
5. For out-of-school youth, an original copy of the certification as OSY obtainable from the City Social Welfare and Development Office or authorized barangay officials, along with the aforementioned necessary documents.

The first batch of accepted applicants in the SPES will start work in July 2024.
