The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has shut down a popular Chinese restaurant in Taguig, which has branches in Makati and Paranaque City, due to serious violations of Philippine tax law.
Revenue Deputy Commissioner for Operations, Maridur Rosario, signed the closure order against Shanzhen Haiwei Food after it was discovered that the restaurant was not issuing receipts and invoices, was not declaring more than 30 percent of its real sales, and also failed to register one of its branches.
The BIR ordered the closure of Shanzhen Haiwei Food's restaurants located at One Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City; Trade and Financial Tower on 7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City; Salcedo One Street, San Lorenzo Village, Makati City; 252 Senator Gil Puyat Avenue, Pio Del Pilar, Makati City; and at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Paranaque City.
Shanzhen Haiwei Food's restaurants will remain closed until the owner corrects their tax code violations and settles their tax liabilities and penalties.
The closure of these restaurants is part of the BIR's "Oplan Kandado" program, aiming to ensure businesses comply with BIR rules and regulations and pay the correct taxes.
