Five men were apprehended while gambling in Barangay Pembo, Taguig City, when it was discovered that some of them were in possession of illegal drugs, a firearm, and ammunition during a patrol by the Taguig City Police on June 17, 2024, at 5:30 PM.

The five men, alias Israel, a 26-year-old tricycle driver, alias Aniceto, aged 38, alias Prince, a 27-year-old construction worker, alias Joey, aged 34, and alias Jayson, a 41-year-old kitchen crew member, were caught in the act of playing cara y cruz by the patrolling officers of the Taguig City Police.

Seized from one of them was a .38 caliber revolver loaded with six rounds of ammunition, and a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet suspected of containing shabu (methamphetamine) weighing 1.2 grams, estimated to be worth ₱8,160.00.

In addition, another heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet suspected of containing shabu and weighing 1.4 grams, estimated to be worth ₱9,520.00, was also seized from another suspect.

The money used in the gambling was also confiscated.

The confiscated illegal drugs and other items have been turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit.

The five suspects face charges for violation of Section 11, Article II of the Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), PD 1602 (Illegal Gambling), and RA 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition).
