According to the Department of Public Works and Highways in Cordillera, a major segment of the road at Cap 2 in Tuba, Benguet has been affected by the foundation's collapse.
In light of the closure of Kennon Road, motorists are now rerouted through Marcos Highway and the Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual road.
Continuous rainfall has been identified as the cause of the foundation's instability and subsequent collapse. The DPWH-Cordillera also reported that the water level of the Bued River, which is part of this route, has risen, causing the soil to soften.
Repair work on the aforementioned road is currently underway. However, it will not be accessible to any type of vehicle for the time being.
