A man was apprehended with a gun and bullets during a house search conducted with a warrant in Taguig City.

In an operation carried out on the night of October 14, 2024, by the personnel of the Taguig City Police Sub-Station 2, a 57-year-old man known as Rico was arrested.

Recovered from him were a real .45 caliber gun, a replica of a .45 caliber gun, 9 bullets, 3 magazines, and a belt bag.

Rico has been charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Prior to this, the search warrant was issued by the Honorable Byron G San Pedro, Executive Judge of Branch 15 of Taguig City, due to the possibility of him keeping unlicensed guns.

Police Brigadier General Bernard Relato Yang, District Director, praised this action by the Taguig City Police, emphasizing the police's desire to maintain peace and order in the community.

"The arrest of alias Rico highlights our ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal firearms and enhance public safety. We appreciate the cooperation of local officials and media representatives in this successful operation."
