The fire, which only reached the first alarm, was responded to by around 21 fire trucks, including those from Taguig Rescue and Bureau of Fire Protection.
BFP Inspector Sablaan stated that the fire was due to an electrical problem and was completely extinguished by 10:38 in the evening.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano and Barangay West Rembo Captain Niño Cunanan immediately went to the scene to check on the condition of those affected by the fire.
The 18 individuals affected by the fire are temporarily residing at the West Rembo Barangay Hall.
Assistance was provided to them by the Taguig Social Welfare and Development Office.
