Three out of every 100 Filipino women may be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, making it the third deadliest form of cancer in the Philippines. According to the latest data from 2019, a staggering 9,926 Filipino women lost their lives to breast cancer.

The Philippines has the highest rate of breast cancer cases in Asia, and the country ranks ninth worldwide, according to 2019 data.

Early detection and prompt treatment of breast cancer are the most effective ways to prevent the disease from worsening or becoming fatal.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the city government of Taguig and the ICanServe Foundation are partnering to promote breast cancer screening and spread awareness about the disease.

The Ating Dibdibin program provides free breast cancer screenings and lectures, in addition to sharing stories from those who have successfully undergone treatment for the disease.
