Manila Water Company will be providing free septic tank cleaning services in select barangays in Taguig and other parts of Metro Manila and Rizal that fall under the water concessionaire's jurisdiction.

The service will be available to the barangays of Cembo and Ususan in Taguig City. Residents simply need to coordinate with their local barangay or call the Manila Water Consumer Desk Hotline 1627 to determine the exact date when the Manila Water trucks will come to clean their clogged septic tanks.

Sixty-five barangays across nine cities and five municipalities in the East Zone will receive Manila Water's free service in the coming days.

These include Barangay Bangkal, Guadalupe Viejo, and Kasilawan in Makati City; Harapin ang Bukas, Barangka Ibaba, Barangka Ilaya, Barangka Itaas, Malamig, Pleasant Hills, San Jose, and Vergara in Mandaluyong City; E. Rodriguez, East Kamias, Krus na Ligas, Pinagkaisahan, Roxas, Sauyo, Silangan, Tandang Sora, UP Campus, and West Kamias in Quezon City; Batis, Kabayanan, Salapan, Batis, and Corazon de Jesus in San Juan City; Bagong Ilog and San Jose in Pasig City; and Marikina Heights in Marikina City.

In the city of Manila, the desludging team from Manila Water will visit Barangays 764, 765, 767, 769, 775, 776, 778, 790, 791, 796, 798, 877, 878, 879, 880, 895 and 900.

In Rizal, the desludging caravan will go to Barangay Beverly Hills, Mambugan, Inarawan, San Juan, and Muntindilaw in Antipolo City; San Isidro, San Juan, and Santo Domingo in Cainta; Burgos, San Isidro, and San Jose in Montalban; Bilibiran, Batingan and Calumpang in Binangonan; San Isidro and Mahabang Parang in Angono; and Dolores in Taytay.

Manila Water stated that the waste from the septic tanks undergoes treatment at septage treatment plants before it is discharged into the main oceans and rivers to ensure the safety of the fish and other organisms living there.
