Alongside the celebration of Google's 25th anniversary, Yves Gonzalez, Google Philippines Head of Policy and Public Relations, announced at a press conference in Menarco Tower in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig, that they are also rolling out three new Google Career Certificates for those aiming to complete a technology-related course online.
Google Cloud has launched the free generative AI skills development courses, which include Introduction to Generative AI, Large Language Models, Responsible AI, and others.
These courses not only boost Filipinos' knowledge of AI but also assist in advancing their professions or possibly paving the way for a new career.
Google also launched the Google for AI Startups Cloud Program, offering startups or those starting their career the opportunity to acquire the necessary cloud credits of up to US$350,000 over two years.
This program provides access to AI experts, training, resources, and networking opportunities.
Additionally, Google has added three courses - Business Intelligence, Advanced Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity - to their Google Career Certificates program. These certificates are professional credentials that can help individuals, regardless of their educational background or job, gain additional skills in digital fields such as IT support, UX Design, E-commerce, and Digital Marketing.
In 2022, Google announced they would offer 39,000 Google Career Certificate scholarships to aid Filipinos in underserved communities in acquiring digital skills. This initiative also aims to help Filipino workers advance in their jobs or careers. Six thousand individuals have already graduated from the scholarship recipients.
This year, the company will introduce 1,000 Google Career Certificate scholarships in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology and partner non-government organizations.
