Malacañang has once again suspended work in all government offices and classes at all levels in Luzon this October 24, 2024, due to the ongoing devastation caused by Typhoon Kristine.

According to the Office of the Executive Secretary, the directive excludes government offices involved in assisting disaster victims or performing essential tasks.

"Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council relative to the forecasted continuous heavy rainfall due to Severe Tropical Storm 'Kristine,' and to aid in the rescue and relief operations of the government, work in government offices and classes at all levels in Luzon are hereby suspended on 24 October 2024," according to the directive.
"However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services," added the Office of the Executive Secretary.

Private sector entities may also suspend their operations if they wish to do so.
"Further thereto, the localized cancellation or suspension of classes and/or work in government offices in other areas may be implemented by their respective Local Chief Executives, pursuant to relevant laws, rules and regulations," Malacañang further added.
