The Palace issued Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 64 last Wednesday specifying that government offices under the Executive Branch will close at 3:00 PM this Monday.

"This Office also encourages all government workers in the Executive branch to fully support the programs and activities relative to the observance of Family Week, as organized by the National Committee on the Filipino Family," according to the MC.

The Palace also encourages early suspension in other branches of government, independent commissions or representatives, and the private sector to give Filipino families the opportunity to start the 32nd National Family Week celebration earlier.

However, those delivering basic and health services, those facing disasters and calamities, and other essential services are not included in the early suspension of work.

The fourth Monday of September is also set as "Family Meal is Important" Day.
