The heat index remains at a dangerous level in Taguig City and the southern part of Metro Manila after The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced a forecast of 42 degrees Celsius at its NAIA station (Pasay City) on May 6, 2024.

The Science Garden in Quezon City is expected to record a heat index of 41 degrees Celsius this Monday.

The most intense heat index is in Aparri, Cagayan and Dagupan City, Pangasinan at 47 degrees Celsius, which is expected to remain at this level on May 7, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Norte and Guiuan, Eastern Samar are experiencing a heat index of 45 degrees Celsius.

The following areas are experiencing a heat index of 44 degrees Celsius:
• Bacnotan, La Union
• Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
• San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
• Virac, Catanduanes
• Roxas City, Capiz
• Catbalogan, Samar

A heat index of 43 degrees Celsius is estimated for May 6 in the following areas:
• ISU Echague, Isabela
• Sangley Point, Cavite
• Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas
• Puerto Princesa, Palawan
• Cuyo, Palawan
• Daet, Camarines Norte
• Dumangas, Iloilo
• Catarman, Northern Samar

A heat index of 42 degrees Celsius is expected in the following areas:
• Sinait, Ilocos Sur
• MMSU Batac, Ilocos Norte
• Baler, Aurora
• Casiguran, Aurora
• Cubi Pt. Subic Bay, Olongapo
• Masbate City, Masbate
• Iloilo City, Iloilo
• Tacloban, Leyte
• Borongan, Eastern Samar
• Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte
