In a post on her official Facebook Page, Cayetano highlighted that her page has 182,000 followers and follows only 4 accounts, whereas the fake account has 7,400 followers and doesn't follow anyone.

Not only was Cayetano's Facebook account duplicated, but her Instagram account was also copied in name and content.

"We have received a report of an account imitating Mayor Lani Cayetano's Facebook page. This page is copying all content from the Mayor's genuine page and is using it to victimize people on Facebook. This fake page is asking for OTPs from its followers/friends to access e-payment apps like GCash and Maya. Warning: Do not follow or add the said page. Do not provide personal information that may be used to hack your accounts. If you are asked for an OTP or any other information, immediately report the page to Facebook and let us know," Cayetano warned in her Facebook post.
