A new seven-storey multi-purpose building was inaugurated in Barangay Bagumbayan, Taguig City on December 23, 2024.
The building houses a Barangay Health Center on the first floor, complete with an examination room, dental clinic, minor surgical room, and breastfeeding room.
The Taguig City Police Station and Bureau of Fire Protection offices are located on the first and second floors.
The third floor accommodates the offices of the barangay secretary, treasurer, peace council, staff, Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) desk, and the office that handles barangay permits and clearances, including electrical and CCTV rooms.
The fourth floor hosts the offices of the Barangay Captain, Administrator, Councilors, and Youth Council, as well as a conference room and session hall for barangay officials and residents.
The fifth floor serves as the satellite office of the City Government of Taguig where the Barangay Affairs Office (BAO), Taguig City Integrated Survey System (TCISS), City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), and Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) are situated.
The floor also features an e-library where Taguigenos can freely use computers (16) for educational and professional purposes.
The sixth and seventh floors comprise training spaces, additional offices, and conference rooms. Each floor also has restrooms for men and women, as well as facilities for persons with disabilities (PWD).
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit, and 1st District Representative Ricardo "Ading" Cruz Jr., followed by a blessing of the building.
The City Government of Taguig aimed to bring local government services closer to the people of Barangay Bagumbayan, hence the construction of the multi-purpose building.
"The building is important but what's most vital is our ability to expedite the delivery of our services. I urge everyone to ensure we provide a pleasant experience for every citizen who steps into this establishment, so they leave with a smile having received excellent service," the mayor expressed.
Senator Cayetano stated that public infrastructure plays a significant role in promoting community cooperation.
"It's such a joy to see this building: there's a clinic for the sick, there are offices for paperwork, and there are police and firefighters to turn to for help. If we can further improve the neighboring sports complex, we can make this a place where families come together for a stronger community life," Senator Cayetano said.
Construction of the building began in 2020 and was funded by Senator Cayetano's Office through the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
