Unexpectedly, Handoyo Salman, wanted in Indonesia, was found in a place in Bataan where illegal online gambling activities were being carried out.

Salman is facing charges for violating information and electronic transactions in his country, in addition to his money laundering activities.

Also apprehended with Salman in Bataan were 41 other foreigners, but the 41 cannot yet be deported as their expulsion process is still underway.

BI Commissioner Joel Viado stated that they can only be deported once the paperwork has been sorted out.

"These individuals are still facing deportation cases on grounds of undesirability. However, their physical custody has been transferred under recognizance to Bataan Representative Albert Garcia and their legal counsel," Viado said.

"All 41 foreign nationals are still registered in our system, with cases ongoing. Should they be found liable, they will also face deportation in accordance with Philippine law," he added.
