The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of one of the world's largest finance companies, with holdings amounting to US$3.2 trillion, arrived in the Philippines yesterday to address the country's top business leaders at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
Jamie Dimon, 68 years old and with a net worth reaching US$2.3 billion, was holding a mobile phone as he stepped out of his vehicle in front of the local JPMorgan Chase BGC office and waved to the cheering crowd who welcomed him.
Dimon was invited by his office and the US Philippines Society to speak at the event titled "A Conversation with Jamie Dimon," where the audience was made up of the Philippines' prominent businessmen.
Among those invited to witness Dimon's speech were Manny Pangilinan, Ramon Ang, Sabin Aboitiz, Lance Gokongwei, Robina Gokongwei-Pe, Tessie Sy-Coson, Kevin Tan, Jose Antonio, Tony Tan Caktiong, Arthur Ty, Manny Villar, Edgar "Injap" Sia, Lucio Tan III, and others.
The Chairman of Ayala Corporation, Jaime Augusto Zobel De Ayala, who is the co-chairman of the US-Philippines Society, gave the welcome remarks.
Dimon has been listed several times as one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People. He has held his position as Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase since 2006.
