A 47-year-old Korean man, wanted in South Korea for extortion and demanding ten million won from his victim, has been arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) after hiding out in the Philippines.
Lee Jihwan was captured by the BI - Fugitive Search Unit in Talisay City, Cebu on January 8, 2025.

He had an arrest warrant issued by the Changwon District Court last November after being accused of theft and assault.
Lee and his accomplice attacked their victim with a knife where the victim was struck in the head.
Lee also bound the victim with duct tape, threatened him, and forced him to transfer ten million won, equivalent to about US$6,800, into his bank account.
Currently, Lee is being held at the BI Detention Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City, awaiting his deportation.
