The Korean Embassy in the Philippines has announced that the Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) will open this August to handle visa applications.

At present, those wishing to apply for a Korean visa, including tourist visas, need to secure an online appointment first. However, some have found difficulty in securing an online visa appointment due to fully booked slots.

The Korean Embassy stated in their announcement that they will start accepting applications for Korean visas at their Korea Visa Application Center even without online reservations.

Once the KVAC is operational, visa application submissions and passport releases will only be conducted at the center. The embassy will no longer accept any visa applications or release visas outside this center.

The KVAC is located on the 9th and 10th floors of the Britanny Hotel at Bonifacio Global City, 6 Mckinlet Pkwy, Taguig City. It will undergo a pilot operation from August 14 to 25, 2023. The official start of operations is scheduled for August 29, 2023.

The current online visa appointment system will end after the last slot opening for the month of August. From August 29, 2023 onwards, citizens applying for a Korean visa will no longer need to make an online reservation.

Those who will walk in to apply for a Korean visa can visit on any business day, and there will be no limit to the number of visa applications accepted per day.

For now, those applying for visas still need an online reservation, especially those applying from August 1 to 25, 2023. Online reservation slots for the month of August will open at 9:00 am on July 27. Applications with online reservations will be accepted at the Korean Embassy from August 1 to 11. Meanwhile, applications with online reservations will be accepted at the KVAC from August 14 to 25.
